About New Zealand

New Zealand has a special culture that welcomes visitors of all nationalities. Our place in the South Pacific, our love of the outdoors, sport and the arts, and the influence of our indigenous Maori people, make New Zealanders and our culture unique in the world.

New Zealand’s spectacularly beautiful landscape includes vast mountain chains, steaming volcanoes, sweeping coastlines, deeply indented fiords and lush rainforests. This stunning landscape was made famous through its starring role in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy of movies.

Comparable in size to Great Britain and Japan, New Zealand has a population of four million – making it one of the least crowded countries in the world. It is a haven for those seeking peace and relaxation, as well as a playground for thrill seekers and adventurers.

The north of New Zealand is subtropical and the south temperate. The warmest months are December – February while the coldest are June – August.

 Auckland City

About Auckland

Auckland, New Zealand’s largest population centre, is poised between two enormous harbours and dotted with extinct volcano cones. The region is a fusion of four cities – Auckland, Manukau, North Shore and Waitakere – with cultural elements that span from Polynesia and Asia to the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe.

Auckland has the largest international airport in New Zealand with direct flights to and from most of the major airports in Australia and Asia. The Auckland domestic airport also provides easy access to other top destinations within New Zealand.

While Auckland acts as a gateway to New Zealand, it’s also a destination in its own right. Visitors can explore the Hauraki Gulf by ferry or charter boat, walk the forest tracks of the Waitakere Ranges, follow wine trails and enjoy the relaxing pleasures of urban life by the sea.
